With `is_input=true`, you can:\n - Send empty `command` to retrieve additional logs\n - Send text to STDIN of the running process\n - Send control commands like `C-c`, `C-d`, or `C-z`\n - Send navigation keys like `UP`, `DOWN`, `LEFT`, `RIGHT`, `TAB`,\n `ESC`, `BS`, `HOME`, `END`, `PGUP`, and `PGDN`\n - Send any `C-<letter>` Ctrl sequence such as `C-a`, `C-e`, or `C-l`\n\n### Best Practices\n* Verify a parent directory exists before creating files or directories.\n* Prefer absolute paths and avoid excessive use of `cd`.\n\n### Output Handling\n* Large output may be truncated before being returned.\n\n### Terminal Reset\n* Set `reset=true` to create a fresh terminal session if the current one\n becomes unresponsive.\n* Resetting the terminal clears environment variables, working directory\n changes, and running processes.",

      "description": "Custom editing tool for viewing, creating and editing files in plain-text format\n* State is persistent across command calls and discussions with the user\n* If `path` is a text file, `view` displays the result of applying `cat -n`. If `path` is a directory, `view` lists non-hidden files and directories up to 2 levels deep\n* The `create` command cannot be used if the specified `path` already exists as a file\n* If a `command` generates a long output, it will be truncated and marked with `<response clipped>`\n* The `undo_edit` command will revert the last edit made to the file at `path`\n* This tool can be used for creating and editing files in plain-text format.\n\n\nBefore using this tool:\n1. Use the view tool to understand the file's contents and context\n2. Verify the directory path is correct (only applicable when creating new files):\n - Use the view tool to verify the parent directory exists and is the correct location\n\nWhen making edits:\n - Ensure the edit results in idiomatic, correct code\n - Do not leave the code in a broken state\n - Always use absolute file paths (starting with /)\n\nCRITICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR USING THIS TOOL:\n\n1. EXACT MATCHING: The `old_str` parameter must match EXACTLY one or more consecutive lines from the file, including all whitespace and indentation. The tool will fail if `old_str` matches multiple locations or doesn't match exactly with the file content.\n\n2. UNIQUENESS: The `old_str` must uniquely identify a single instance in the file:\n - Include sufficient context before and after the change point (3-5 lines recommended)\n - If not unique, the replacement will not be performed\n\n3. REPLACEMENT: The `new_str` parameter should contain the edited lines that replace the `old_str`. Both strings must be different.\n\nRemember: when making multiple file edits in a row to the same file, you should prefer to send all edits in a single message with multiple calls to this tool, rather than multiple messages with a single call each.\n\n\nYour current working directory is: /private/tmp/odsc-workshop6-v2/schedule-team-t1\nWhen exploring project structure, start with this directory instead of the root filesystem.",

You

You own ONLY the file /private/tmp/odsc-workshop6-v2/schedule-team-t1/times.py. Do not edit times.py's sibling files (windows.py, planner.py, test_planner.py, README.md). No commits, no memory files, no installs, no network. Always run Python with PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1.

README.md contract (the complete acceptance contract) for times.py:
"Implement parse_time(text) in times.py. parse_time accepts exactly ASCII HH:MM, 00:00 through 24:00 inclusive; 24:01 and other malformed values raise ValueError; returns minutes from midnight."

Interpretation to implement:
- Input must be a str of exactly the form HH:MM using ASCII digits 0-9 (strict, e.g. [0-9]{2}:[0-9]{2}).
- Valid range: hours 00-23 with minutes 00-59, AND exactly 24:00 (which = 1440 minutes). 24:01, 24:59, 25:00, 08:60, 23:61 are invalid → ValueError.
- Malformed inputs raise ValueError: "8:05" (1-digit hour), "08:5" (1-digit minute), "8:5", "", " 08:05", "08:05 ", "08:05:00", "08,05", non-ASCII digits, None, bytes, int, etc. Anything that is not an exact strict match → ValueError.
- Return integer minutes from midnight (int), e.g. parse_time("00:00")==0, parse_time("08:05")==485, parse_time("23:59")==1439, parse_time("24:00")==1440.
- Be careful: Python re \d matches Unicode digits; enforce ASCII with [0-9].

Steps:
1. Implement times.py (replace the `raise NotImplementedError` stub).
2. Verify with in-memory Python probes (e.g. `cd /private/tmp/odsc-workshop6-v2/schedule-team-t1 && PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1 python -c '...'` calling the local module via sys.path/importlib). Probe ALL of the following: valid times list above (0, 485, 1439, 1440, plus a mid value like "12:00"->720 and "00:01"->1), and every invalid/malformed case listed above, asserting each invalid case raises ValueError. Print PASS/FAIL for each probe.
3. Do not add anything to the file that violates the contract; keep the module import-safe (planner.py does `from times import parse_time`).

Report back: (a) the exact final content/interface of times.py, (b) the exact probe results (valid returns and the full list of invalid inputs that correctly raised ValueError), (c) any assumptions you made.

New implementation exercise with incomplete stubs. Implement parse_time(text) in times.py, merge_windows(windows) in windows.py, and free_minutes(lines) in planner.py. parse_time accepts exactly ASCII HH:MM, 00:00 through 24:00 inclusive; 24:01 and other malformed values raise ValueError; returns minutes from midnight. merge_windows accepts iterable (start,end) integer minutes with 0<=start<=end<=1440; invalid pairs raise ValueError. Drop zero-length intervals. Return sorted disjoint tuples, merging overlaps AND touching intervals. Do not mutate inputs. free_minutes accepts iterable strings each exactly START-END; parse using times.parse_time, merge using windows.merge_windows, return {'busy': merged_list, 'free': 1440-sum(end-start)}. Empty lines iterable means full day free. Invalid time, backwards interval, or extra separator raises ValueError. Only times.py, windows.py, planner.py, test_planner.py may change. No installs.

**Final content of `times.py`**
```python
import re
def parse_time(text):
    """Parse ASCII HH:MM (00:00-24:00 inclusive) into minutes from midnight."""
    if not isinstance(text, str):
        raise ValueError(f"not an HH:MM string: {text!r}")
    if re.fullmatch(r"([0-9]{2}):([0-9]{2})", text) is None:
        raise ValueError(f"not an HH:MM string: {text!r}")
    hours = int(text[:2])
    minutes = int(text[3:5])
    if minutes > 59:
        raise ValueError(f"minutes out of range: {text!r}")
    if hours > 24 or (hours == 24 and minutes != 0):
        raise ValueError(f"hours out of range: {text!r}")
    return hours * 60 + minutes
```
Interface: `parse_time(text: str) -> int` (minutes from midnight), raises `ValueError` on any non-strict match. Import-safe via `from times import parse_time` (verified).

**Probe results (all PASS)**
- Valid returns: `"00:00"→0`, `"00:01"→1`, `"08:05"→485`, `"12:00"→720`, `"23:59"→1439`, `"24:00"→1440` (each returned `int`).
- Invalid inputs all raised `ValueError`: `24:01`, `24:59`, `25:00`, `08:60`, `23:61`, `8:05`, `08:5`, `8:5`, `""`, `" 08:05"`, `"08:05 "`, `"08:05:00"`, `"08,05"`, full-width `"08:05"`, `08:05\n`, `\n08:05`, `8:05:00`, `-8:05`, `08:-5`, `a8:05`, `8a:05`, `08:5a`, `08:a5`, `00:00:00`, `100:00`, `:05`, `08:`, `08:5 `, `08: 05`, `None`, `b"08:05"`, `805`, `8.05`, `["08:05"]`, `("08:05",)`, `True`.
- Final aggregates: `ALL VALID PASS`, `ALL INVALID RAISED`. Module import + `from planner import free_minutes` succeeded.

**Assumptions**: `[0-9]` used (not `\w`/`\d`) to force ASCII; minutes are the mm value with no cross-field 24:00 reduction (sign handled by regex); lines matching exactly `HH:MM` (5 chars) are required — decimal sign, unicode digit, separator variants, list/tuple/None/bytes all rejected by the `isinstance(str)` + regex checks before any arithmetic. No files other than `times.py` were edited; no commits made.
